"Lead the Charge", that is the tagline for the 2021 season for the UCF Marching Knights. It represents the empowerment of taking the initiative to start something spectacular and perhaps also lead others to inspiring greatness.
As shown, the central figure, the MK Drum Major leads the Marching Knights into their performance, hence the connection to the tagline. The overall composition of the piece is reminiscent of epic cinematic posters where they embody the thrill and excitement of what is to come where in this case, is the feeling of being a Marching Knight about to perform on the field.
As UCF stands for diversity, all of the figures behind the Drum Major are depicted with different instruments, genders, and skin colors to represent how the Marching Knights' value of inclusiveness.
This design previously made in 2018 but was ultimately mothballed. Depiction of the Pregame “Run On” Sequence and the embodiment of “Charge On!” however was carried over to become the poster’s theme.

Character design of the Drum Major, the central figure of the piece. The pose is a reference to King Author wielding the legendary sword, the Excalibur. This is to tie in the fact that we are knights afterall.

Here are the character designs for each of the figures used in the poster. The central Drum Major figure and the left & right figures that are used respectively on their respective sides albeit with variations in skin color, gender, and instruments.
