I wanted to do a project that puts together two of my favorite thing: Model building and robots. Usually, model kit parts fresh out of the box are attached to these plastic trays called runners. So I designed three robots, of different colors and shapes, and have them disassembled and placed on the grey runner as if they are ready to be built like a model. With this assignment requiring transparent colors, I also decide to take advantage of that and make the robots look more interesting by featuring their inner frames(skeleton/armature) underneath their respective colors. The background is the cutting board because that is what modelers such as myself typically use when assembling model kits.
Overall, I know this project is me staying true to myself by doing art based on the things I love
These are the sketches for the concept of the poster along with early concepts of the three robots.

These are the five screen printing layers that I needed to complete the illustration.
The three robot characters I designed for the illustration all assembled before they are taken apart for the design.
